A Librarian Reads…

#Prettyboy Must Die by Kimberly Reid

Jake Morrow was an orphan and hacker on the road to prison or worse when he was chosen by the CIA for Operation Early Bird. Now, after a botched mission he’s semi-retired to finish high school as Peter Smith, and hoping desperately to get back to work. So when a freshman girl takes his picture, he worries a little. When she posts it online, he worries more. When it goes viral, he’s sure his cover is blown and he’ll never be a field operative again. When armed commandos take over his chem class, Peter realizes more than his career is at stake. Is it the hacker he’s been tracking? Someone looking for revenge? Locked inside the school and cut off from help, Peter knows it will be up to him to save the day.

While some parts of the book seem highly improbable, overall it is a fun, light-hearted read full of action, suspense, and just a little romance. Recommended for readers in middle school and up who enjoy fast-paced spy stories.
