Want to win prizes, get invited to a party, and earn bragging rights for the Moline Public Library? Enter the 2013 Teen Reading Challenge and “Read to Survive / Survive to Read!” Stop by the Library to pick up your Challenge Log or print out a copy from here. The Challenge runs from January 6 through January 26. All you have to do is keep track of how many minutes you read (and yes, that includes homework), record your time on the Log, and return it to the Library by January 31st. Read 250 minutes get a prize and an invitation to the Challenge Final Party on February 1st at the Bettendorf Public Library. Read 500, 750, or 1000 minutes and get entered into drawings for even more prizes. Let’s go Team Moline!
The Moline Public Library’s 2012 Teen Summer Reading Program will run Tuesday, May 29 through Saturday, July 21. Readers entering sixth grade through finishing twelfth grade are invited to participate. The program consists of five levels of 300 pages or 300 minutes of reading, and each is rewarded with a prize. After completing all five levels readers can continue reading for entries in the drawing. Many special teen-only events will be offered throughout the summer as well.
