A Librarian Reads…

Tagged by Diane C. Mullin

Liam makes his way through his hood in downtown Minneapolis by holding on to his dream of being a tagger, and maybe someday even a true graffiti artist. But life keeps throwing him obstacles, like his teammates at his private school making fun of him for being a poor kid on scholarship, his brother getting him involved in tagging for the Irish Mafia gang, and having members of a rival gang threatening him for it. When he’s sent away to spend the summer with his mom’s friend in a tiny, boring town in Michigan he sees it as a punishment. But Kat is an artist too, and takes him and his work seriously. Will he learn to find his place in the world as a brother, son, friend, and artist? Or will he always be a kid from the hood?

Recommended for high school and up.
