A Librarian Reads…

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs

Jacob grew up on stories of his grandfather’s childhood: the peculiar children at the orphanage, his travels and adventures, the monsters he hunted and killed. At some point he stopped believing, but it all comes back when he finds himself face-to-face with the monster that has just killed his grandfather. Now he’s travelling to the remote island of his grandfather’s tales. He hopes to find some answers—a way to make sense of the impossible things he thought he saw that night. What he finds instead is a whole new world, and questions he never imagined asking.

Recommended for high school and up. Be sure to catch the movie, due out in September.
