A Librarian Reads…

Nemesis by Brendan Reichs

Min Wilder has been murdered six times. Every other year, on her birthday, a man in a dark suit finds her and kills her. Then she wakes up in a clearing as if nothing had happened. After the first couple of times she decided it was best not to try to convince anyone of the truth. But her sixteenth birthday is different. Her psychiatrist seems to know she’s hiding something. And there’s the small matter of the giant asteroid hurtling toward the Earth. When it’s announced that the anvil will miss the planet after all, Min isn’t terribly relieved. That only means many more years of dying repeatedly. Then strange things start happening. An army convoy rolls into the remote Valley where Min lives. Earthquakes hit one after the other. And Min discovers that her doctor is keeping files on all of her classmates. Something very big is going on, and Min is determined to discover what it is.

Recommended for high school and up.
