A Librarian Reads…

Who’s That Girl by Blair Thornburgh

Nattie is just an average girl. She’s got a solid group of friends through her school’s gay-straight alliance club, a loving family, and she’s a whiz at Latin. So who cares if she’s only been almost-kissed twice in her life? Once was by her friend Zach the Anarchist (not to be confused with Tall Zach). The other was by Sebastian Delacroix. Then Zach got a girlfriend and Sebastian graduated and moved away. Only now Zach is single again, and Sebastian’s band has just released a hit single called Natalie. Nattie is sure the song is about her, and after seeing Sebastian at a concert he starts messaging her. But for some reason she really doesn’t want Zach to know about the song. Or Sebastian. Or the messages. As Nattie helps her best friend Tess prepare to throw the school’s first absolutely inclusive dance, her life begins to spiral out of control.

Funny and authentic, this book is recommended for readers in eighth grade and up who like romance, comedy, music, and conjugating Latin verbs.
