A Librarian Reads…

Estranged by Ethan M. Aldridge (Graphic Novel)

Years ago, the king and queen of the fay switched their own child with the human boy Edmund. Raised more as a pet than a person, and referred to only as The Human Childe, the boy nevertheless grew to love his fay parents and the world Below. Meanwhile, the fay prince has lived as a human, with parents and a sister who love him. But he knows he’s different and lives in constant fear of his true identity being discovered. When the evil Hawthorne overthrows her brother the king, The Human Childe escapes. And the only person he has to turn to is his changeling. Edmund doesn’t want to leave his family and his human life, but when the world Below comes Above, both boys know they must save those they care about—family or not.

Beautiful illustrations bring a lot of life to this fun story. Recommended for readers in middle school and up who enjoy fantasy and graphic novels.
