Write Now! is a group for teen and adult writers of all genres and writing levels. Meetings will be on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the 2nd floor program room. On the second Monday we will discuss an aspect of writing craft, share experiences, ask questions, and/or do a writing exercise. On the fourth Monday participants can bring up to 6 pages of a current writing project to share with the group for advice and feedback. No registration required.
Tween/Teen Gaming will take place on Wednesday, February 13 @ 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. Enjoy a variety of video games, board games, and computer games at in the second floor program room. Drop in anytime. No registration required. Grades 6-12.
Help the Moline Public Library knit/crochet blanket squares on Wednesday, February 13 at 5:30 p.m. Blanket squares will be used to make complete blankets which will be donated to Project Linus. Program is open to teens and adults of all levels of experience. No registration required. Supplies are provided but limited. Participants can bring their own supplies.
TWEEN STEAM CLUB: Dissection is open to students in grades 4-8. Learn about animal science and dissect a sheep heart on Thursday, February 14 at 6:00 p.m. Registration is required and space is limited. This program is developed pursuant to a Library Services and Technology act grant administered by the Illinois State Library using funds provided by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services.
Students in grades 5-12 can win $100 in the Teen Video Contest sponsored by Quad City area libraries. Submit a 3 to 5 minute movie that celebrates the theme “Libraries are for Creating” by February 27 along with an entry form. Then bring your friends and family to the Premiere Party at the Putnam Museum on March 7 at 6:00 p.m. to see your movie on the big screen.
