Celebrate International Games Week with the Moline Public Library the week of November 3-9, 2019. Stop by any time during open hours to play board games, card games, print-and-play games, and even giant games! Or relax and put together a puzzle. Check out games to take home and share with the whole family.
The Write Now! Writers Group is open to teen and adult writers of all genres and writing levels. Meetings take place on the first and third Mondays at 6:00 p.m. in the Moline Public Library 2nd floor program room. Bring up to 6 pages (double spaced) of a current writing project to share with the group for advice and feedback.
Help us knit/crochet blanket squares over the winter months. Blanket squares will be used to make complete blankets which will be donated to our Project Linus chapter. Program is open to teens and adults of all levels of experience and will meet on Wednesday, November 6 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. No registration required. Supplies are provided but limited. Participants may bring their own supplies.
Tweens and teens in grades 6 through 12 are invited to join the Moline Public Library’s Teen Advisory Group. Make new friends, give advice about programs and materials for teens, and earn service credits. Meetings are on the first Thursday of the month at 3:30 p.m.
The Library will be closed on Monday, November 11 in observance of the Veterans Day holiday.
A Beginning LEGO Robotics series will teach students in grades 4-10 with little or no previous experience with robotics how to program motorized LEGO robots to perform basic tasks using LEGO Mindstorms EV3 kits. Registration is required. This is a four-part series and attendance at all four sessions is recommended. November 12 & 19, December 3 & 10 @ 6:00 p.m. An advanced series will take place in January.
Students in grades 4 through 10 can learn to sew using sewing machines and hand-stitching at the Moline Public Library. Create lap blankets and lap quilts to donate to a nursing home. Learn the basics on November 14 and 18 at 6:00 p.m. Drop back in on November 21, and December 5, 9, and 16 between 5:30 and 7:00 to continue to work on your projects.
