There’s Someone Inside Your House by Stephanie Perkins

Makani is slowly adjusting to life in Nebraska after moving from Hawaii. Her parents are going through a messy divorce and sent her to help take care of her grandmother while they get things settled. At least, that’s what she tells everyone. She’s so worried about anyone finding out the real reason that she even changed her last name to her mother’s maiden name. After many months she’s finally got a couple of good friends and even had a fling with outcast Ollie over the summer. But when teenagers start turning up dead all over town, Makani is more worried than ever that her secret will get out.

This book is full of suspense, romance, and a healthy dollop of horror. The characters are well-rounded and believable. Recommended for readers in high school and up.
