Teens and adults can Learn to Knit with Carolyn Krueger, owner of The ARTery, and in the process make a trinket to take home. This two-part class will be on Tuesdays, February 18 & 25 @ 5:30 p.m. Registration is required and space is limited.

Help us knit/crochet blanket squares over the winter months. Blanket squares will be used to make complete blankets which will be donated to our Project Linus chapter. Program is open to teens and adults of all levels of experience and will meet on Wednesday, February 19 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. No registration required. Supplies are provided but limited. Participants may bring their own supplies.

Students in grades 4-10 can learn about nutrition and food safety, and make and eat an entire meal at the PNG Cooking Class on Thursday, February 20 @ 6:00 p.m. Registration limits have been met. Email to be put on the waitlist.

The PNG Photography Workshop is a chance for students in grades 4-10 to learn about digital SLR cameras, framing subjects, lighting, and using editing software. This is a four-part series and attendance at all four sessions is recommended. Sessions will take place on February 27, March 5, 12, & 19 at 6:00 p.m. Registration is required and space is limited.

Students in grades 4-10 can learn about animal biology, diet, habitat, and behavior through the dissection of a snake on Monday, March 2 @ 6:00 p.m. Students will be using sharp instruments, and parents are welcome to stay if the student needs assistance. Registration is required.

Write Now! is a group for teen and adult writers of all genres and writing levels. Meetings will be on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month at 6:00 p.m. in the second floor program room. Bring up to 6 double-spaced pages of a piece you’re working on to the April 22 meeting to get feedback and advice.

Tween/Teen Gaming will take place on Wednesday, April 24 @ 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. Enjoy a variety of video games, board games, and computer games at in the second floor program room. Drop in anytime. No registration required. Grades 6-12.

Students in grades 4-8 can learn about the effects humans have on the environment in a Watershed Science Class on Thursday, April 25 @ 6:00 p.m. Registration is required and space is limited. This program is developed pursuant to a Library Services and Technology act grant administered by the Illinois State Library using funds provided by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services.

Students in grades 4-8 can make and eat a meal during the TWEEN STEAM CLUB: Cooking Class on Thursday, April 18 @ 6:00 p.m. Registration is required and space is limited. This program is developed pursuant to a Library Services and Technology act grant administered by the Illinois State Library using funds provided by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services.

Students in grades 6-12 can submit ONE original poem of up to 30 lines in the Teen Poetry Contest. Entry forms are available at the library or online at https://bit.ly/2Gi5lAz. Deadline for submissions is Wednesday, April 17, 2019. Prizes will be $25, $15, and $10 gift certificates for first, second, and third places in each category (middle school or high school).

The Library will be CLOSED on Friday, April 19 in observance of the Spring Holiday.
