TWEEN STEAM CLUB: LEGO Space Challenge is open to students in grades 4-8. Learn to program robots and use them to accomplish tasks. Sessions will take place on January 14, 21, 28, and February 4 at 6:00 p.m. Attendance at all four session is recommended. Registration is required and space is limited. This program is developed pursuant to a Library Services and Technology act grant administered by the Illinois State Library using funds provided by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services.

Tween/Teen Gaming will take place on Wednesday, January 23 @ 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. Enjoy a variety of video games, board games, and computer games at in the second floor program room. Drop in anytime. No registration required. Grades 6-12.

Help the Moline Public Library knit/crochet blanket squares on Wednesday, January 23 at 5:30 p.m. Blanket squares will be used to make complete blankets which will be donated to Project Linus. Program is open to teens and adults of all levels of experience. No registration required. Supplies are provided but limited. Participants can bring their own supplies.

Students in grades 6-12 are invited to an Interactive Movie Program featuring Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief on Thursday, January 24 at 5:30 p.m. in the second floor program room. Enjoy crafts and other activities related to the film. Registration is required and space is limited.

Write Now! is a group for teen and adult writers of all genres and writing levels. Meetings will be on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the 2nd floor program room. The January 14 meeting will cover the topic of next steps to take once you have finished a work.

The first half of the LEGO Robotics workshop will teach students in grades 4-8 how to program a robot using LEGO Mindstorm kits. Come back on November 14 to compete in a sumo-bot competition.
